Brisbane to Sydney carries some of the lowest published charter prices between two capitals. Charter One prices it at $8,000 to $12,000 all in, which is below what the same company quotes for Sydney to Melbourne despite being a slightly longer sector. Neither Brisbane Airport nor Archerfield has a Commonwealth curfew, so late departures are a scheduling question rather than a legal one. And the reef and the islands are within reach, with published prices to Hamilton Island and Townsville.
Prices shown are published estimates only. Your final price will depend on the aircraft available, travel date, route, passenger numbers, luggage and any additional fees. Request a quote from the charter company for an exact price.
Brisbane to Sydney
Three companies publish a price for this sector and they do not agree, because they are not quoting the same product.
| Company | Price | Basis | Aircraft |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charter One | $8,000 to $12,000 | All in, direction and return not stated | Light jet |
| Navair | $12,000 | Same-day return | Light jet or turboprop |
| FlightCharter | $12,000 to $14,500 | Return | Light jet |
| FlightCharter (empty leg) | $6,200 ex GST | One way, Archerfield to Sydney, flight date 11 October 2026, listed on 29 September 2026 | PC-24, up to 8 seats |
Prices checked: 7 September 2026. Empty leg checked: 29 September 2026.
Charter One's figure is described as all in but does not say whether that covers one direction or a return, and the difference is roughly double. Ask any operator quoting you which of the three bases above they mean before you compare the numbers.
Split six ways, Charter One's price comes to $1,400 to $2,000 a head, a calculation that company publishes itself. Whether it beats a same-day business class fare depends on the fare on your date. Virgin's lead-in business class fare is $359 one way, checked 11 September 2026, the cheapest seat in limited numbers.
The sector is 751 km and the flight time varies more than you would expect: Air Charter Network puts a Phenom 300 at about 45 minutes and a Learjet 75 at about 50, Airly says about 80 minutes, and The Jet Club's earlier Falcon 7X listings showed block times of 1 hour 6 minutes to 1 hour 10.
North to the reef and the islands
Navair publishes Brisbane to Hamilton Island from $4,440 per person. Charter One prices Brisbane to Townsville, a two to two and a half hour flight, at $15,000 to $18,000 on a turboprop or $21,000 to $25,000 on a light jet. For a sense of scale further north, the same company puts Sydney to Cairns, three hours on a midsize jet, at $25,000 to $32,000 all in. No operator publishes a direct Brisbane to Cairns charter price.
Empty legs do appear on these routes. On 29 September 2026 FlightCharter listed Cairns to Archerfield on a PC-24 at $8,800 excluding GST, for 10 December, and Tullamarine to Hamilton Island on a Challenger 604 at $16,000, for 4 October.
The Melbourne gap
No operator publishes a charter price for Brisbane to Melbourne. That is a strange absence on the third busiest airline route in the country, which carried 3.65 million passengers in 2025 according to BITRE.
What can be said is where a quote should land. The sector is 1,379 km, roughly double Brisbane to Sydney and slightly longer than Melbourne to the Gold Coast, which Airly prices from $20,355 to $57,500 and up. In our reading, a quote should land in that territory rather than near the Sydney figures, and aircraft class will matter more at this distance.
Archerfield or Brisbane Airport
Brisbane Airport takes the large jets, international flights and anything needing customs. Jet Aviation runs a private terminal there, open 24 hours with customs and immigration on site.
Archerfield, about 13 km from the city, is a general aviation field. Light Jets Australia is based at Archerfield Airport and Navair operates a lounge there. It is closer for the southern suburbs and the Gold Coast corridor. Ask the operator which field your aircraft can use, particularly if you have been quoted a larger jet.
Neither field has a Commonwealth curfew, which puts Brisbane in a better position than Sydney, Adelaide, Gold Coast or Essendon for a late departure.
Who you can book through
| Company | Base | Focus | Operator or broker |

| Light Jets Australia | Archerfield Airport | Citation jets, JetCard from 30 hours | AOC holder, CASA.AOC.0502 |
| Navair | Archerfield lounge, national fleet | Mustang through to Falcon 7X, 20-hour jet card | Holds a certificate, CASA.AOC.0056 |
| Charter One Aviation | Not stated | Charter, empty legs | Not found on the CASA register |
| Avion Classique Chartering | Archerfield, Brisbane | Charter | AOC holder as Aero Corporate Charters Pty Ltd, CASA.AOC.0018 |
| Adagold Aviation | Not stated | Group and regional charter | Not found on the CASA register |
| FlightCharter | Not stated | Charter and published empty legs from Archerfield | Broker, states it holds no AOC |
| ACAM Pacific | Not stated | Aircraft management and charter | Not found on the CASA register |
| Jet Aviation | Brisbane Airport | Private terminal (fixed base operation) | Not applicable |
We checked this list against the CASA register on 29 September 2026. Navair, Light Jets Australia and Avion Classique all hold certificates, though Avion Classique flies as Aero Corporate Charters Pty Ltd, which is the name to search rather than the brand. FlightCharter states on its own site that it is a broker and holds no AOC, which is the right way to disclose it. Charter One, Adagold and ACAM Pacific did not appear under the names we searched.
Navair publishes pilot minimums: its command pilots have at least 2,000 hours, and it says the majority of its pilots have over 3,500. Ask every company for its operating entity and certificate number, because CASA puts the reason plainly: the company selling you the flight may not be the one flying it.
Avion Classique also joined the Australian Business Aviation Association as an operating member in September 2026. Association membership tells you a company is active in the industry. It is not a safety credential, and the AOC is the thing that matters.
Where the cheap sectors turn up
Archerfield appears regularly in FlightCharter's listings. On 29 September 2026 they included Archerfield to Sydney and Sydney to Archerfield on a PC-24 at $6,200 each, Archerfield to Adelaide and Cairns to Archerfield on the same type at $8,800, and Brisbane to Tullamarine on a Challenger 604 at $13,000, all excluding GST.
Each is one way on a fixed date, and the operator can cancel it if the original charter changes.
Common questions
How long is a private jet flight from Brisbane to Sydney?
Between 45 and 80 minutes depending on the aircraft. Air Charter Network puts a Phenom 300 at about 45 minutes and a Learjet 75 at about 50. Airly quotes about 80. The Jet Club's earlier Falcon 7X listings showed block times of 1 hour 6 to 1 hour 10.
Is there a curfew at Brisbane Airport?
No. Commonwealth curfews apply at Sydney, Adelaide, Gold Coast and Essendon Fields. Neither Brisbane Airport nor Archerfield has one.
Which airport do private jets use in Brisbane?
Both. Archerfield takes most light jet and turboprop charter and is closer to the southern suburbs. Brisbane Airport handles heavy jets, international flights and customs. The aircraft usually decides.
How much notice do I need?
Navair says a charter can be arranged within hours subject to availability. Charter One says booking inside 48 hours typically costs 20 to 30 per cent more and a month ahead usually gets a better rate. Light Jets Australia says its JetCard holders have 24/7 access.
Can I fly private from Brisbane to New Zealand or Bali?
Yes, through Brisbane Airport where customs is on site. No company publishes Brisbane prices for those sectors. Navair's Sydney to Auckland figure of $100,000 gives a rough trans-Tasman order of magnitude.
